This is the 6th picture in the 6th folder

Amy Jo and I on the North Shore hanging in the banyan tree. It was fun until we discovered it was infested with ants and we had them everywhere!

The Escape

I took way to many pictures, 163 to be exact. With my (somewhat) new camera in tow and my new-found knowledge from photography class, I took A LOT of pictures. Consequently, this blog is mostly pictures. A picture is worth a thousand words....

In no particular order:

The six of us enjoying our last hour at the beach by our house. Right after this picture we wished the sun goodbye and went home

On Valentines Tessa toasted "to love"

Luke doing the traditional backflip on the beach

While in Mexico Luke grew a mustachio; I made him model it

We took a ferry to Cozemel for a day and rented scooters to cruise around the island. Where is Preston you ask? He was obsessed with deep sea fishing and for two days in a row went fishing. He did end up catching a mackerel and mahi-mahi which he grilled for us that night and made delicious fish tacos.

While cruising on the scooters by chance we found this beach and snorkeled. By far, even compared to Hawaii, the best snorkeling I've ever done! A massive reef, perfect clarity, millions of fish; it was AMAZING!

It's official, we're dorks

Our house we rented for the week.

'80s party

For the big dual "30-years old" birthday we had an '80's party. Everyone that was invited was told to dress up, sadly there were only a few of us who felt the spirit. Here are my favorites in order of good to the best(very best):

Honorable mention goes to Sasha for being a good sport and putting on the clothes we brought for her and made her wear at her own party.

4th Place: My mother. She picked out her own outfit, did her own hair, and sang all alone on Karaoke, no words, and to Disney! She was a hit with the kids! How old is she again?

3rd Place: Tessa. The crush velvet top, taffeta skirting, crimped hair, vibrant makeup there was no detail to small!

2nd Place: Derek. We found him this incredible jump suit. It was a little short and a little tight (the bum split when he sat down), but what a sport to wear this at his own party in front of his friends! Now that's a Man!!

1st Place: Preston. He found this rare jewel of a jumpsuit and proclaimed it his. He was more into this then anyone. For a week he fretted about how to do his hair, how to grow his facial hair, what shoes to wear. Hands-down the prize goes to him.

One dangling earring was the cherry on top. A complete ensemble.(yes we even had '80's clothes for the kids)

Wadley Farms

Yes. I work at Wadley Farms. And yes, (can I say this?) it is beautiful (is that overly proud?). I would like to think if I arrived at Wadley Farms for a reception, and was viewing it for the first time, that when I would walk though the double wood doors my breath would catch....

I took some pictures for the blog last week and decided they deserved a post on my personal site as well.

Enjoy

To my Sis

Happy Birthday!

It is my big sister's birthday today and I want to wish her a happy 30th! I can't believe that she's 30; she totally looks more like 21 or something! Sasha is my best friend. She is always there for me. I remember one time I tried out for this silly dance team in high school and all of my friends made it and I didn't, I was devastated! The world officially came down around me. I hid in my garage and cried for a few hours and when I finally came out I went up to my bedroom and there on my bed was a bouquet of flowers with a card from Sasha. She always calls and checks up on me to make sure I'm okay. She sticks up for me, sometimes I can be a a little shy or "to nice" but she won't let anyone push me around if she's there.

Love ya tons Sash and happy birthday!!!

2009 off to a good start

I usually look for a sign toward the first of each year to set the mood for the year. 2008 started off bad and then continued to be a rough year. This year however, the sign is for a good year. Yeah!!!! Go Utes!!!!

I think we can all (BYU fans included) agree that this victory brings pride to our State and also to the MWC. What a great game!
